We are excited to welcome Mississippi’s own Lee Durkee to serve as the Keynote Speaker for our 2026 workshop!
Lee Durkee is the author of the novel The Last Taxi Driver—named a Book of the Year by Kirkus Review, The Irish Times, & Le Monde—as well as a memoir Stalking Shakespeare that the New York Times described as “wickedly entertaining” and the Washington Post as “gripping, poignant, and enjoyable.” His stories and essays have appeared in Harper’s Magazine, The Sun, The Oxford American, Zoetrope, Garden & Gun, Tin House, & Mississippi Noir. In 2024 he was the recipient of the Mississippi Institute for Arts & Letters Award for Excellence in Memoir. He lives in Taylor, Mississippi.
